When asked about whether theyd see rousseau's (spelling?) story:
"To use the word flashback might be disingenuous." Lindelof said they were, "steering away from the word flashback," with Cuse saying the show would still contain both flashbacks and flash-forward, but in addition, "We're doing something new this year."
Only other format I could think of would be actual time travel or a flip book..
Also they showed some video that seems interesting enough:
The panel was then "interrupted" by one of the Dharma Recruits from earlier, who declared that Lindelof and Cuse have, "had the mic for four seasons and you're not telling me s**t!" He said he had found some real answers via the secret Dharma video and proceeded to show said video.
The video featured Dr. Marvin Candle, familiar from various Dharma training videos on Lost, speaking to the camera, dressed far more casually than we're used to. He tells us, "There's no point in games anymore, right? You know my real name is Pierre Chang." We hear a baby crying, and he asks an unseen person, "Take him outside."
He proceeds to say that he is a professor of theoretical astrophysics from Ann Arbor, Michigan who was brought to the island years ago. Per usual, the video cuts out at several key points. He says, "You should be receiving my message in 30 years" and notes that by the time we see it, George W. Bush will be president and that we will communicate via something called the internet.
He adds that he knows by the time the video is seen, "Unfortunately, my colleagues and I are all dead," victims of, "A violent purge; one which we are apparently powerless to escape." In a moment that certainly will have fans speculating, he adds he knows all of this because the information, "comes to me from a source that's been credible."
He says that he thinks the very fact that we are seeing the transmission, "proves our work is valid," and that it is, "Imperative that the Dharma Initiative be reconstituted. Time is not just of the essence, it is the essence." He says we must, "Find a way to save us; to change the past," before the video is cut off by an angry Hans… who then proceeded to storm on stage and say Dharma was cancelling their sponsorship of the Lost panel, and to prove the point, he grabbed Lindelof and Cuse's Dharma soda cups away from them.
